Sekai: The globe in the hands of ladies

I like the Japanese tensha bead, very exquisite design.
so I must do something nice with it.
This piece make use of wirework, interlocking crystals and beads together.
the earrings are to be hooked on the long slender modern earring hook.
this piece is named sekai, the japanese word for the world.
The poem is dedicated to my dear friend who has shifted back to japan to work.

it arise out of a request to make a smaller piece.

I started this piece because of a request for red and black haircomb with a matching earring.

Beginnings



So as I was again doing my usual thing of putting the beads on the haircomb together, hubby asked me how about giving an additional twist to it. How about having one haircomb that changes pattern? wouldn't it be so nice to pay for one piece and get a dozen other patterns? Great I thought.

And I proceeded to find means to do that. So as I was experimenting with it, I came up with the detachable hook notion. So there's the beginning of the true evolution. A detachable piece to create various designs.

Loop de Loop

Then I proceeded to make a matching earring. I've thought about it long enough already. And I have just the right design for it. After I made finish this piece, I chance upon hearing from its owner that she already had many pairs of loop earrings and wanted something else. Oopps, how how. Well then just forget it, just pass it to her and see how it goes. Who knows she may fall in love with it and maybe this is the nicest loop earring that she will have :P

Evolva's evolution

Then I started playing around with the detachable piece and I thought hey, how about really maximizing it, making it worth it's value and let it be something else too other than the accessorize piece to the haircomb. And I begin to make it into a earring. So I've got one side of the earring, but I need another matching side. It will be more worth it if I make a mismatch set so that the other piece can become a different accessorize piece to the haircomb. And so it is.

I thot of dreamz coated with yummy snow.

Darkness of light

A perfect piece to match black evening wear.
looks good with even plain simple clothes
I did this piece on colors of black, grey and silver.
It's amazing the effect how the colors emit brillance.
simple yet complicated, complicated yet simple, that's the beauty of it.
this is one of my most unusual piece as the ear hook is not attached in the usual way.

Who is to say that darkness is unpleasnat,
for its understated brillance shines,
amidst the shiny bright lights.
Surrender to the dark seduction of the night
and partake in the shine that is dark.

Dreamy maze

another earring that was created with long 925 earring hook.
the pendant can be remove from the hook, so one hook can create several designs
the concept models after the feeling of being in a dream, not knowing what's next, where to go, as though you're moving through a maze.
uncertain, yet it feels almost like in a fairy tale.

Chess

It started off with the hook
It's long elegant shape attracted me and reminded me of a cat, slender and elegant.
So I wanted to devise something for it.
I started playing with black and white spectrum, and it is to be something simple. And should be able to slide off the hook easily so that the hook can be reused for another pendant to hook on.
sterling silver 925 hook is used.
So there you are.

motherly love

This is my first mother of pearl set.

who else other than mother will this piece be most suited for. It has a very nice easy to use clasp.

actually the necklace is 3 strands of pearl and not 2.

I ran out of beads while making it and the shop ran out of pearls.

A long time later, I've bought the pearl but sis have yet to take the photo for me.

so here's still the original version till I get the pictures done up.
